Marcelo Oliveira (born 4 March 1955 in Pedro Leopoldo) is a Brazilian former footballer and current manager. He currently coaches Palmeiras.〔()〕 ==Managerial career== After a period as a sports commentator on Rede Minas, Oliveira began his coaching career at Atletico Mineiro the basic category and stayed there for a long time. Was coach of the professional team 6 times, the last between August and December 2008. In 25 games running the athletic, secured one of the vacancies for the Copa Sudamericana 2009. Following, he went to Emerson entry lion. In 2010 he was hired to coach the Ipatinga. After the 2-0 defeat to Paraná, Marcelo Oliveira was fired. In the same year he took command of Paraná Clube, leaving the team in October. On November 18 it was announced as the new coach of Coritiba for the 2011 season, replacing Ney Franco. Its passage through Coritiba was the longest and most successful of his career so far leading the team to two state titles and two finals of the Copa do Brazil. He was fired after the 3-0 defeat to the Portuguese on 5 September 2012.
